5 Ways to Make the Best Out of Your Escape Room Experience

September 7, 2020

1. Bring Your Friends

Depending on the escape room game you choose to play, there may be a minimum number of players required to join, but you are going to want to bring your friends anyway. The more players, the less difficult your game experience will be. Two (or more) heads are better than one, right? Right.

Also, you are likely to feel more comfortable during game play when you already know your teammates. You will typically have more fun than you would with a group of strangers, and feel more at ease and confident about speaking up if you happen to stumble upon a clue or two. Communication is key to solving the mystery!

2. Book in Advance & Arrive Early

Make sure that you call ahead or check online for escape room availability and book your desired time slot in advance, especially if you are visiting our Detroit area escape room center. There is nothing worse than heading out for a fun day or night with friends only to have your plans fall through because there were no escape rooms available.

Booking in advance and arriving 15 minutes prior to your reserved time slot also gives you extra time to prepare. You can have your escape room waiver signed by you and your group before arriving, which will save you precious escape room time. You may also want to take some extra time to familiarize yourself with the escape room rules, especially if this is your first time visiting. Lastly, arriving early will give you enough time to store any of your belongings in a secure locker if needed.

3. Wear Something Comfortable

Wearing comfortable clothes is a must. You may have to reach or crawl through certain areas of your escape room game. Aside from this, all you truly need is your brain and imagination.

4. Watch the Clock

We all know that time flies when you are having fun, but time really flies in an escape room where you are tasked with saving Detroit from zombies… or ancient Egyptian gods. Tick tock.

5. Have Fun

This may be the most obvious, but it is also the most important reminder. Stay positive, have fun, and remember – it is just a game!
